Best Salinity Measurer

Sorry i forgot the name, is it hydomometor or something

anyway, what is the best, hand held, least expensive way of measuring the salinity/gravity level?

hydrometer... personally, for the cheaper plastic water filling types, i find my instant ocean one to be far more dependable than my Deep Six one, probably because it was factory calibrated. Other than that, the BEST thing to get to be the most accurate, would be a refractometer.. which will run you around $40 on ebay. HTH

I used to use a Hydrometer with my fish only tank. However, it sure is nice to know my readings are accurate with the Refractometer.

Just get a refractometer, the singlest most imprtant thing in this hobby for $40. deep six hydrometer are the biggest pieces of junk ever manufactured. out of 9 people talked to, not one was anywhere near accurate.
