Best sand sifting goby?

Im looking for a good sand sifting goby for my 75G mixed reef. It should be peaceful, hard working and pretty Suggestions?

yellow headed sleeper goby in my 77. Only 20 bucks and he sifts the sand all day long. Just started to take to flake food and seaweed. Very peacefull

If you are running a DSB you will have problems, and it normally is best not to add these fsih.

The eat the microfauna in the DSB and nitrates will increase and stay there until the sandbed goes or the goby goes, unless you have some other way of stopping the nitrates.

People keep saying they eat the fauna, but the fauna isnt what makes the nitrates go away, thats the bacteria.

The whole "eat the fauna" thing is basically saying that they actually make your sand stirring worse.

Diamond Goby is my suggestion, peaceful, stays on the bottom all day takin in mouthfulls of sand, also eats flake and frozen food

Bacteria certainly are the culprits, but the stirring capabilities of the infauna/meiofauna are what give the bacteria more ready access to nitrate and other nutrients so that they can be processed more effectively. Extensive removal of infauna in small or immature DSBs will eventually lead to problems in terms of processing capability, not to mention the eventual malnutrition of the fish. IMHO, if you are looking to have the sand sifted, there are better options, such as Cerithid snails and various worms, etc. If you want the fish, you need to make the necessary accommodations by ensuring that your sandbed will be sufficient.

Try a dragon or brown barred goby. I've got one in my 240 and he sifts sand all day. Keeps it nice and clean. Also eats mysis and pellets.
