What is the best choice for a sand sifting Goby? I'm looking for one that will take prepared foods (like frozen mysis)as well as what it finds in the sand (if there is such a thing)

I have read that species such as the Orange spot and Two Spot are very difficult to keep in an aquarium as they will usually starve.

I have a golden sleeper head goby..had it about a year and a half...its been a great fish since day one and eats anything i put in the tank...besides it makes a mess!!

I had a brownbarred goby (aka, banded sleeper goby or dragon goby) - Amblygobius phalaena.

He was great. Sifted sand all day, ate algae off the rocks/glass, and ate prepared foods from day 1. I had him about 1.5 years before he stopped eating and died. Not sure what happened there. The area around his eyes turned purple too.

yeh my dragon goby gets employee of the month award cos my substrate looks like the moon, cos of all the craters his little gulps make!!!

the foto of mine below was taken when the only other tankmates were a scopas tang and a little puffer, when i added a tiny little yellow clown goby his makings became much more defined and attractive, like the photo above.

My dragon get sand all over my rocks...not too happy about that otherwise he's the best cleaner.
