Best Snorkeling Camera

I'll be traveling to Cozumel for sprig break with my family and was wondering what would be the best camera to use while snorkeling? I already have a Canon 350 D Rebel so I'm not looking for an expensive camera, more towards the point and shoot type. I was looking at the Canon Powershot D10, anyone have suggestions what camera I should get?
I'm looking at spending between $200 to $350.

look into ikelite housings they can accomadate almost any existing camera so then you wont have to buy a new camera.....just use the housing for your land camera

Basically, it all comes down to what quality of pictures you are looking for. If you want to capture the underwater colors, you're going to need a strobe and this also means an underwater housing, eg, Ikelite. If you are content with minimal images, eg, a lot of very blue images and limited detail, then the basic line of underwater cameras will suffice.

I use the Olympus Stylus 1030 SW point & shoot underwater camera. 10 megapixel and under $400. Takes great pics on land, at the beach and the pool too! It took me a few trips underwater to figure out how to take great natural reef pics, but you can judge for yourself:

I think im gonna get one :)

I have the Canon Powershot D10 and love it!
My only gripe is that I can't take it below 33 feet, but for everything shallower, it's a sweet camera.

Olympus has some 10 to 30ft waterproof cameras for starting at under 200$ easy. i have one. Also shock proof and freeze proof to -10.
underwater cases are available to go deeper. but the nice thing is that they have specific settings for underwater photography. pretty nice for a "inexpensive" (not cheap lol) camera. 4.5/5 on bang for buck (its no DSLR but it gets the job done).

On this note, how is the Nikon cool pix cam and its housing? It takes great shots in my aquarium but I havent had a chance yet in open water to use it.

I had a Sony T1 with the underwater housing that I used for a while and it did pretty well. I've upgraded to a T900 with the underwater housing this year, but have not had the chance to take it out yet. The T900 has an underwater mode made for use with the housing and changes the white balance to compensate for the blue water tint (actually the water filters out the reds).
