best substrate for shrimp govies and sand sifters?

im hoping both types of gobies could be kept with the same substrate. id hate to have to choose now, and would rather have open possibilites for the future.

im hoping the southdown, or oolitic sand, that the sand sifters require would be ok as a building block for the gobies' shrimps or other boroughing goby.

i thought of adding a bag of caribsea's grand bahama biome sand, as it has small peices/chunks of shells and the like that can be used to reinforce any "homes".

do you think this combo will work for both types of fishies.

whatcha think?

I used a pretty fine grade sand in the tank that my Syeinitz Goby lives in. Previously, it was for my Neodactylus wennerae, a mantis shrimp, so it was set up fairly deep (3"+ in a 5 gallon Eclipse Hex) with a bit of digging in mind. I, too, added bits of shell and live rock rubble for shoring up, and he used it, although he really prefers to live in a plush cave, rather than his burrow (He has 2 main haunts in the tank).
