Best T5 bulb for growing sps

Hi all I just scored a t5 tek light which I am going to put over my frag tank.

It needs new bulbs, so which are the BEST for keeping sps under ?

Also How deep should the corals be?

I am planning a removable tray in my fuge made out of acrylic and eggcrate. I can make it as deep as I need.... The tank is 24 " deep.... I can make it 8-12, I would rather it be shallow so the corals get the most light.

They are just frags anyway.. I need a place to grow these little guys out in.

Thanks ALL!

Also I just score a RED acropora, and a pink/purple deep water acropora from eric at fragfarmer over the weekend.

The T5 bulbs from ATI are the best. I don't know if they are available in the US. The next best are Giesemann and D&D.

The corals can be palced on any height. 24" is the max. depth to keep SPS.

Good Luck!

thats alot of perception...from everything i have read and experienced the ATI's are the way to go...

those two pics dont prove much of anything and i dont believe anyone doing research on a product they sell when they try to compare

There is no need to make it shallow....leave it 24" and start them low in the prop tank and slowly move them up. EXactly what Wattage are the bulbs and how many are there???

I have the ATI Sun and my corals grow towards the bulb. Also the GE bulb is about the same PAR and alot cheaper.

I have 6 36" 39 watt bulbs on a tek mount. I bought 5 aqua blue 10k and 1 6500 k geissman from marine depot.

I have about 10 frags under it now, and we have full color and polyp extension.

3 species of acropora and 2 species of montipora

Another reason to keep them high in the tank is because of flow issues, and ease of use for my hand to get in there....
