Is it possible to have an sps tank without a calcium reactor? would liquid trace elements work? and what is zeovit? Thanks

I add dowflake mixed with water from Randy's 3-part formula. Pure CaCl. Keep in mind that carbonate is the other half of the equation for calcification. Someone else will have to help you out with zevoit.

If you want something that is a bit more expensive, but no work you could dose B-Ionic. I have a 72gl bow with a ton of SPS, and 4 Clams and so far have been able to get away with B-Ionic and Kalk drip with good success.

If you want something you can just go out and buy, B-Ionic two part is good stuff, but if you want to save a tun of money look into Randy Homes Farly's article on making a DIY 2 part.

I just got the MgCl this weekend, I have yet to mix it up. I need to use up my kent tech-m first anyway.

B-ionic is good, its just expensive. If you wanted to, you could use this solely to provide all your alk/calc needs. However, for an SPS tank, you will go through that stuff like theres no tomorrow. At $30 for a set of gallon jugs, your going to spend an aweful lot if you have a good size tank. I happen to also use Randy's 3 Part.....Its DIRT CHEAP and very very easy to make. It probably costs 1/10th of what b-ionic costs.
