best Way to frag a colt?

i have used needle and thread , the mesh tie down method. still this rip apart?


any ideas?

place it on a rock with birdal mesh over it, hold the mesh down with a rubberband...it should attach itself in a matter of a couple of days.

i tried that .. we have Mexican turbo snails i think there the one ripping them off the rock'

i used plastic toothpics placed in predrilled holes (in somewhat flat pieces of rubble) with a 1.5" peice of airline tubing (perpendicular accross the toothpick forming a "T" ) to lock the frag in place. this way i could adjust the presure more easily without cutting right through the frag.

still, it can be tricky. my best results were with large frags (4" or larger)

You can just squish the end of the stock with two small frag rocks and rubber band the rocks together. Don't really smash it but put enough pressure on it to keep it there.

needle and thread method always worked great for me. i made like 20 frags at one time and they all attached.

Sorry Kogo, I'd love to post pics after they are fragged but these are in my frag tank and I run the risk of being banned from RC if we do so.

i realize you mean that in humor (and there are several people using that same humor), but it seems that making spiteful remarks directed toward the actions of moderators is a good way to get the entire FMAS forum removed (that would not be good).

FMAS has an excellent resource for acrilic work who is well known and highly respected... there was no need for him to "advertise" or "show off" his work... his name was (and is) already an instant pairing with local acrilic work.

however, it seems that many members have taken it upon themselves to take offense on his behalf and continualy refrence the incident on this board... a board we use quite activly and for free!

this seems to be a bit beneath ourselves, and i think it is unneccasary.


sorry for the long post and any offense that may be taken (this post was not directed toward any one individual), i only meant it as a reflective commentary on several comments ive read lately.






also sorry compulou for the momentary hijack. i hope your frags are comming out well, and that you do post some pics of the process.

Kogo, ummmm sorry dude but I wasn't kidding or being humorous. If I was, you would have seen a smiley next to my post.

I wasn't being spiteful either; I know very well what RC means to FMAS and to the rest of us. And for that exact reason is why I won't post anymore pics of my “frags” in my “frag” tank. I’ll still continue to post pics of my 65gal display and my critters contained within.

But I like you guys and I’d like to hang out and continue using RC as the best resource out there for our beloved hobby so I don’t want to risk being banned.

Also I wasn’t offended but I think you misunderstood my post entirely because I wasn’t using what happened to Manny in any way shape or form, I am just complying with RC’s rules, so again I wasn’t kidding, I was being serious.

Both tooth pick and neting with rubberband did not work ... it seems to me that u have to cut the colt closer to the base, rather than the tips... they keep dissolving on me..

and Another thing. what the heck is wrong with people on this fourm .... theres all ways fighting here... Man where her to find out info or get a good deal on reef stuff.. people need to loosen up ans stop acting like little girls!!!!!!!
