Best way to kill a barnacle?

One of my acro's has a barnacle on it, near the base. At first it didn't seem to be causing any problems, but as it grows it's starting to stress the areas around it, and I want it dead.

Anybody have a suggestion on the best way to kill it? I'm considering just stabbing it with a needle a few times, but will that work?

Barnacles usually dont cause any issues at all. Are you sure its a barnacle. If you want to kill it I would just plug its hole with superglue or epoxy. Or just crack it shell. Stabbing it may work.

Definitely a barnacle, and anywhere else I would normally leave it alone. It's interesting to watch it fan out. It's just that it's growing too fast into the skeleton of the acro.

wouldnt think it'd case a problem, specailly at the base of an acro. Your bang on the money for killing it though.
