Hi, I just took down a tank I had set up at the University of Miami 6 years ago. (See it on page 10 of The Reef Aquarium vol. 3...the first aquarium featured!) The tank was finally being overgrown by corals, and we have decided to start from scratch and go with a Florida reef biotope.
Many can be fragged easily if you've got the time and the patience. They are currently taking up way too much space in my tank and want them out ASAP!
I would be interested in trading for rare zoanthids and/or corallimorphs...
Here is a sample of some of the corals I have to clear out of my tanks:
1) Red Montipora capricornis almost 12" in Diameter. Could literally be fragged into hundreds of 1"x1" frags. I don't have the time or space for this coral. (over 4 years old)
2) Pink and green seriatopora hysterix almost 12" in diameter. Again, could be fragged into hundreds of pieces (Over 6 years old)
3) Euphyllia (2 species, neon green)
4) Green and purple fungia (almost 7" in diameter) (over 6 years old)
5) Blue tipped acropora
6) various acropora frags that aren't too pretty looking now, but will look nice when fragged and grown under proper conditions
7)Caulastrea
8) XL Red and green lobophyllia open brain coral about 12" in diameter (over 6 years old)
9) large red and aqua lobophyllia about 7" in diameter
10) Green galaxea
Tons of metallic star polyp rocks, mushrooms, and more, and more!
PM me if you are interested in these corals. Many of them would be awesome as broodstock for aquaculture. They are all adapted to aquariums, so you can be sure they are going to grow fast.
I am located in Miami, near Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Orange Bowl....
