bio filter?

Hey fellow reefers
I was told bu the guy at my lfs that I don't need and bio filter. I have 40+lbs live rock and about 2.5-3" live sand bed with a remora hang on skimmer

what size tank and what are you keeping?

how big is the tank? if you have the same about of pounds in gallon size then you should be fine with the rock and skimmer.

tank is 40g and the rock is 40+ lbs
1 randall goby
1 flame hawkfish
2 black perc clowns
2 colt corals
15+ mushroons 3"+

you should be fine with the LR you have. are you having an Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate problem?

no everything is at 0ppm but the diatoms or brown algea is on the move!
