Birdsnest Problem

I seem to be having a problem with an ORA birdsnest. It has whitened out and polyps are not extending as nicely as when I first got it. The weird thing is that it has grown quite well even at its current state although the branches are quite thin. My params have always been good and my other corals are doing okay so I don't know what the problem is. Any insight is appreciated.

How much flow do you have on it? What lights do you have, and where is it in your tank? How long have you had it? Just a couple questions.

Thanks for responding to my plea. I have about 40X flow (1600 gph), T5 lights (4 bulbs 39W) and it is situated midway in the tank. I have had it for about 1 1/2 months now and it's the only one in the batch that I bought that day that is showing these signs. I'm attaching a pic for a closer look.

Looks like it tried to bleach on you. Might have been too much light at first. You have a couple options. You could frag the tips, where the coloration is, or you can leave it as is. By looking at the photo, I don't think it has RTN. If it gets any worse, and not better like you are saying, frag the tips. You could get about 4 frags from it. I doubt you would see any problems after that. Good luck.

jsousa,

My alk has been normally between 8 and 9, I believe it has remained relatively stable as I dose B-Ionic everyday.
