biting true percs!

i went to the frag swap and picked up a sweet deal on a rose anemone with the true perc... its settling in my tank.. and now that true percs bites me whenever i stick my hand in the tank! this true perc is one agressive fish!!! it bites! it bite me acouple of times

it didnt hurt.. but it was annoying. this true perc is the bigger one of the other true perc ive had. i think its going to be a female and this is one agressive female going through her period..

and is the perc thats hosting the anemone suppsed to be bitting the tentacles?

It is just an agressive eater. I know that when I feed the tomato clowns at the store they are just really hungry, and everytime I stick my fingers in the tank they bite me.

Normal behavior, even the tentacle sucking. To wean your fish off biting your hand, only hand feed them.

If it didn't hurt, she's not really attacking you. When she draws blood...

Just two of the cool things clowns do! I have a three spot damsel at least twice the size of your clown that either bits my hand or gently uses its tail to feel/stroke or pet me. The stroking is super soft. It usually does both, bits me a few times first, then strokes me. I don't know what that is all about, but it can make you jump when it bites.
