Black and white clownfish

Are black and white clownfish desirable? I am thinking of breeding some, but wanted to see what your opinions are. Thanks

i like the look of them, and they do seem to sell for more than the normal clowns but i feel as if people nowadays are more interested in the fancy clowns. The picasso's and the snowflakes seem to do the best in my opinion, including the black ice clowns or the onyx clowns which do have a mix of the black and white clowns in them. There is always a market for everything though, just have to find the right person.

If you're thinking of breeding to make money, I wouldn't bother honestly. (With any clownfish). From all that I've read, seen, heard, etc... And ive done a lot of research on breeding clowns, as a side project (for fun, not to make money). Unless you hit the "what's hot right now" fad you won't make a lot of money.

If you're asking whether or not you will be able to sell the fish at all, then yes, I would think so. As long as the fish are healthy and the local market supports it. If you were thinking of breeding tomatoes, maroons, etc, you might want to pick another type though.

Black and white clowns usually sell for more $ than standard orange and white clowns in stores. I'm always in favor of people raising fish, corals, anemones, etc as much as possible so we're not yanking them from the ocean. Captive breeding with almost any fish species is a step in the right direction.
