black clowns-what species?

What species are black clowns? I have seen/ been told both true percs. as well as ocellaris

Is there such thing as a black true perc?

Closest thing would be an onyx true percula like Rod's Onyx. I have seen true percs up to 90% black but they all have a little orange and white on them. Below is a pic of mine.

No ,not an all black true pecula. true percs with alot of black are called Onyx. Although the Hobby is ever searching for an all black True Percual, It has not happened on any public level yet. although there are some darn close ones that a few hardcore collectors have come across.

The only ALL black perc is the Darwin.var A.Ocellaris.

there are other black clown fish , such as A.Polymnus and A.Clarki.
