Hello, I've been in this hobby for a few years but am new to FOWL and also new to this surprise strand of what seems to be cyno bacteria, but it is jet black in color, which I've never seen before and I'm wondering if I should be alarmed. The tank is 75 gallons containing a snowflake eel, spiny box puffer, picasso trigger, and cherub angelfish. water chemistry is as normal as it was before the outbreak and this black "cyno" is only on the back glass where my HoB protein skimmer pours back into the tank. The only thing I have done differently lately (which I predict may have caused this strange color of cyno) was feed my snowflake eel frozen whole squid I bought from the supermarket (in an effort to save some money on frozen food) I cut off the mantle of one of the squid and fed the eel the bottom part with the tentacles and eyes. He immediately drug it under his rock and wasn't seen for a few days. Long story short, is it possible that the ink glands of the squid weren't fully drained and caused a cyno outbreak of this color at my protein skimmer exhaust? should I still continue feeding my eel this squid?
