Black Friday

I've been pretty stupid this year. I waited in line from 5-9 yesterday at Compusa and I got up at 4am this morning. All I can show for it is a sweater and the first season of the office. Niether were that great of a deal either. :o

I did it last year and I was finished shopping and back in bed by 10 am. We were going to do it this year but nothing that we wanted was on sale so we skipped it but we did go out tonight and almost finished the kids shopping in about 2 hours and there was no one out. It felt more like a Tuesday night than Black Friday.

I would do it actually. I wouldn't care about all the crowds.

It's just sort of a crazy fun kind of "I can't believe these people are acting this way" sort of experience.

I never end up going shopping on Black Friday though because people I know all hate even the idea of it.

Hate the idea of capitalism justifying itself by making it into the "black" right before the end of the year? ;)

I avoid it myself. I figure I'd let all the early-rising women go pay $1 for the $2 item they don't need. I'll be a man and sleep in and keep paying $2 for the $1 item that I want. :D

I swear you experience of euphoria when you get the item you have been standing in line for... It is further heightened when people that are standing there with you don't get what they want, and you think to yourself "sucker"...

After I got my TV I walked around for a few hours at Sam's Club and Ashley had to convince me that I really didn't want a PSIII... I was just in my capatalistic mode... I even told her I was doing it to support the Economy... ;)
