I recently got a tang that had black spot. I didn't notice it until I got it home and in my tank. My lights are much stronger so I think that's why. There was absolutely no way to get it out of the tank without tearing the whole thing down. So I started treating with Seachem Metronidazole. Two days later the tang was dead from a bacterial infection. Really didn't see that on coming. It was active and eating in the store. My bad for not quarantining....I will from now on. However, the LFS assured me the bacterial infection was not contagious so I kept treating for the black spot. Then I notice my bicolor blenny losing tail tissue SO I started dosing Kanaplex. Blenny looks ok now but last night I notice some black spots on my clowns!!! The spots are larger than the typical Black Ich spots but I still think it's the same thing.
My question is this, can I control all of this without stripping my tank down to remove the fish. I'll never be able to set it back up the way it is and I'm concerned about stressing or losing my corals.
Any advice?
