Black light diffusers.

Does anybody know where you can buy black light diffusers. Sometimes people call them eggcraght and they usually come in white and are a grid made of 1/2" plastic holes. I just wanted to see if anyone has seen this at Home Depot or Lowes before I go running around town in this heat.

Gary, you said BLACK light diffusers. These are not typically for just black light. These are used in normal flour. lights. As there a difference?

Pretty sure he is looking for black eggcrate. I have seen it before at Lowe's but they do not always stock it. If Lowe's (or Home Depot) do not have it, check with a local lighting specialty store.

Neither Lowes or HD here have them in black. They can get krylon fusion paint and make them black. It works great on plastic.

Two Home Depots and one Lowes later still no luck finding the black eggcrate. I'll have to look into the lighting stores, unless anyone has any other suggestions.

I don't know how much of it that you need, but Jeff at LifeReef lists black eggcrate under stuff that he sells. $4.00 per square foot and he will cut it to your specs. See "Black Eggcrate" on this page...

Depending on what you want to use it for, the spray painting will work for exterior use. I have even done that myself. Personally, I wouldn't use it for in tank applications, though I have read where some have - after days of curing first. Of course, I have no idea of what the long term effects of doing that would be.
