Black ocellaris and orange

I have a small orange ocellaris clown in QT and want to pair it up while it is small with another either orange or black. Is it ok to try to pair it up with a black ocellaris?

they are both the same species
just different colors. i think it would be ok

i always read you shouldnt mix species
so if its the same i dont see why it wouldnt work

but this is just going off of what i have read
maybe someone with experience can help you out

If they want to pair up, they will. I've seen it occur if memory serves

i have a black/orange pair.... the female is the black and the orange is a male..not that it matters what sex

Same exact thing in my aquarium. So far they get along fine. She keeps him on a short leash, but they never really fight.
