Black slug thing. ID?

I just spotted this thing in my tank this morning. Some kind of slug or nudibranch or what?

It's black and about 2-2.5" long. It has 2 pointy "ears" that have white tips.

Is it bad and need to be taken out of my tank? I have been watching where it went in case I have to catch it.

After looking at pics, I think it's a dendrodoris nigra. Does it need to be removed from my tank?

I think you're right, either D. nigra or D. fumata (they can look almost exactly alike). No need to remove it, it will feed on cryptic sponges under your rocks until it runs out of food and starves, or dies of old age. And no, it won't nuke your tank when it dies.

Ok thanks. I was worried about it releasing toxins if it dies.
