My Tangs have Black Spot.
How dangerous and how contagious is this and what are the best treatments if any?
I cannot add copper as it is a reef tank.
Parameters are.
Ammonia 0 mg/l
Nitrite 0 mg/l
Nitrate 0 mg/l
pH 8.4
Temperature 25c.
I got the Black Spot from an infected fish that I added without Quarantining.
This fish has now died. I cannot catch them in a trap so I can give them a copper bath
because they have become very skittish. The Yellow, Thomini and Purple Tang have no signs of it any more.
Only the Vampire and Sailfin Tang are still infected.
All the fish are eating well and there is no aggression in the tank.
I did a water change yesterday and the day before, hoovering all the sand which I
must add is just a sprinkle to remove any eggs.
I am feeding them Brine Shrimp with Garlic, NLS with Serra A, Krill plus both Green and
Browne Algae.
All help much appreciated.
