HELP!! I got home from work today and noticed that my yellow tang has a black dot about the size of an eraser head just behind his pectoral fin along the lateral line.
After scouring my tank's livestock I noticed the same discoloration on my cleaner shrimp. At the current time there are no similar symptoms exhibited on the 2 clowns and the diamond goby. I removed the tang and shrimp to QT and gave them each a short freshwater dip on the way in the hope that it would slow whichever parasite or disease they had. Also as an added precaution I stepped up my water change schedule by a few days and did a 20 % change of the tank.
Any advice, opinions or views on the naming of this disease and recommended methods of treatment (all I could find on black type infections was tang-disease?? or black ich).
