Blasto?

Blasto wellsi, or Blasto Merletti? Wellsi have larger, more plush polyps, usually about 1" in diameter. Merletti have smaller polyps, about dime sized and they grow close together so the coral will look like a marigold in bloom, with all the polyps opened you won't see the rest of the coral.

Care is the same. I keep mine in the middle area of the tank under T-5's. Both will accept food like brine and/or mysis. If other LPS are doing well in your tank they will thrive.

This part is just my opinion. If they are kept in a super clean SPS tank, with ultra low nutrient levels, I find they like a lower current area and MUST be target fed to be healthy.

Blasto Merletti

Blasto Merletti

I have Blasto Merletti red type...and are very fast growing coral.
Plan on fragging some if anyone interested lmk.

I have Blasto Merletti. It started as a tiny frag w/ about 6 polyps. Its qaudrupled in 3 months. Don't think my polyps are quite dime sized, most likely smaller (but maybe they get bigger with time, as the colony grows). Mine are a bright red with a neon lime green mouth.

Chen - these aren't like Zoas. Its a LPS. Its structure is like a candy cane coral, only miniturized.
