Ok i traded a RBTA for 2 carpets. One is a nice electric green and the other is a beautiful shade of bluish white. Looks like it used to be blue. Anyway my question is how to help a severely bleached Haddoni recover?

feed more regularly than the other and it will recover nicely, i have a nice red carpet in my tank at the office that came in a few weeks back a little drab in color and after feeding it heavy for 2 weeks the color has gotten a nice deep red again.

The guy i got it from said it was bleached more than it is when he aquired it. Hes been feeding silversides every other day so ill continue with that regimin. Maybe ill throw in some mysis for variety. Thety both seem very healthy and very sticky so i think im starting with something good. Mouths are tightly shut too. No gapping :)

Julio nice score on the red. That brings back bad memories for me :(

I am not looking to hack it just yet, i want to wait a few more months before i would even consider it, right now is a big distraction for me in my office and everyone in the company just comes to my office to hang out for no reason. My perculas love it though.

easiest way is to take half silver sides if the carpet is large enough and get a syringe and inject selcon directly into the fish under the skin if you can get it to bubble up a tad and then feed it to the carpet and i would try for a small piece every day instead of every other day and if its near a MH bulb try to give it direct light with no blockages.

and it should start to blue back up within the next 3-4 weeks the difference will be tremendous

Also I've heard actually that smaller pieces of food are better--so even shred the silversides (eew--do it while their still frozen). Offer food a bunch of times a day...

Pics?

Thanks Christine. Ill try that too. :) Ill snap a pic soon!
One thing i find kinda odd. The foot is blueish while the rest is pretty much white. I know a pic is worth as thousand words!
