Last week I bought a rock full of purple mushrooms. There are a couple on it that are almost all white. I think they may have been completely shaded in the tank they were in. The largest white one (an inch across) has a tiny spot of pink. There are a couple of smaller ones (1/8 inch) on the rock that are completely white.
Will the zooxanthellae repopulate?
Here's a really pathetic pic of the rock. It's the white one on the left hand side. Behind it is a shroom that was about half white when we bought it, but seems to be coloring up. There's a tiny white shroom below the one on the top of the pic. And yes, I know I have bubble algae. My significant other thinks its cool.
