Hi all

I have had a BTA for about a year, it was in a 55 Gal under 5x54w T5's I upgraded to a 140Gal with 2x250w MH and 2x96w pc actinics (SP?) It is still attached to the rock and accepting sliversides every few days and its mouth is tight. It does look like it is loosing color however. I am hoping it is the change in lighting.

My water params are;

Amonia : 0
Tirtes: 0
Trates :0
PH 8.0
Alk 2.86 meq
CA 420
Mag 1250

Should I be worried?

Did you acclimate it to the newer lights. If not, that is why it is bleaching. That is a big jump in your total light output.

NO!!!:mad2: I was so worried about water quality I did not think of the lights!!!! Will the BTA re color or am I in trouble!!!????

It should. I would only run the 250 its sitting under for a couple of hours a day and slowly work it up over the next couple of weeks. If you cant run the halides separately try using some screens or egg crate.
