Blennies, anybody?

In my 54g I have:
2 YT damsels, 2oc clowns, a 6L wrasse
These fish are all territorial and are aggressive feeders.

Considering the wrasse, shrimp, crabs, etc in the tank I don't think it will support a mandarin now, and I'm not sure how a goby will work out either for the same reason (unless it could eat prepared food).

But a blennie (herbivore?) would not have to compete with the wrasse for pods right so might be a good fit with these tankmates?

Anybody keeping Orange Spot Blennies? What other kinds are recommended?

I have soft corals and will get some LPS but I have weak lighting so don't plan to get SPS or clams.

i have a LM blennie, he is the only fish not picked on by the evil damsel i have, he does eat pods, algae and flake food, but it shouldnt be a prob adding him for you and they are great to watch

I love my Lawnmower Blenny, Lenny. He is active, has great personality, and eats prepared foods! He is even photogenic when he feels like it!!

I loved popeye, my lawnmower blenny from my last tank, they have so much personality and they look so cool. like a prehistoric fish. i will definately get another.

now when you say I'm not sure how a goby will work out either for the same reason (unless it could eat prepared food). are you talking about a Mandarin Goby? if so then yes there is a chance you would have a hard time feeding one. however theres many types of gobies that feeding is not a problem. i have a Pink Spotted Shrimp Goby myself(avatar). he eats anything i put in the tank. i also have a Striped Fanged Blenny. when i first got him he wouldnt eat hardly anything. about the only thing i could get him to eat was live brime shrimp. most the time he would just pick his own dinner off the rocks. now he will eat frozen foods, flakes, and the live stuff in the tank. my point is dont buy a fish because one in the family will work for you, buy it because that fish will work for you. make sense? now i will say lawnmower blennies are very neat fish to have in a tank.

LM Blenny all the way, they are one of my favorite fish, i used to have one in my olf 46 gal and he would eat anyhting that was thrown in there, great personaities.

Hey thanks everybody.

So LMB is a good choice.

maybe I should still try a shrimp goby or a YWG, will these guys hold their spot in the feeding trough next to the damsels and clowns? These guys are pigs, I'm not kidding. The timid will not be shown much mercy in my tank :(

If your wondering about a LMB and aggressive fish I had mine with a Maroon Clown, Damsel, Dwarf Angel, a mandarin and a Bicolor Pseudochromis with no problems. I'm not to sure about the shrimp goby or YWG though, cuz i never had one :D

my shrimp goby will take food from my emerald crab. when hes hungry there isnt anything in the tank that hes afraid of. but i dont have any real aggresive fish. the Powder Blue is probablly the meanest at feeding time.

I have a fairly cool fish. A Cave Goby. He has his own cave. Eats just about anything. However, he does spread the sand around. That bugs a bit. He is translucent. You can see his insides. Just a thought.
