Bloomspect Chinese black box

I spent a lot of time reading various threads and reviews on all of the different CBB LEDs. I had a list in mind, as I was looking for cheaper option, so Photon V2 and other more expensive options were not on my list.

Was going towards Ocean Revive and ViparSpectra, but stumbled today on BloomSpect unit (it was discussed briefly here last year in few threads) There are 2 version of it by the looks of it, both 165W. Newer version has built in timer, and looks like clone of ViparSpectra. Older version is similar to MarsAqua unit for example, but with nicer white LED selection.

Difference that I found between new version and ViparSpectra is in UV bulbs. Bloomspect has 2 x UV 400nm, while ViparSpectra does not (ViparSpectra has 2 extra Royal Blue 450 bulbs)

Long story short, I ended u finding good deal on both old and new units, so wanted to share, in case anyone else is looking

2 piece Bloomspect new version $112

I am in no way affiliated with these, and did end up buying 2 piece new version. Will post up pics if there is interest once they arrive.

post pics on your tank if possible...

Hey, I would love to, however I am just getting back into thick of things. It will be several months before I start putting it all together. Only reason I ended up buying lights now is because they were cheaper than usual, I had $10 off coupon that was expiring yesterday, and 8% eBay bucks that was ending yesterday as well.

Either way, after some more research, this company used to be called SunSpect, and then changed name to BloomSpect for whatever reason. It has been discussed as SunSpect on another forum (not sure if I am allowed to link it)

Also, found few videos that could help on YT, posted by Patrick's Dive and Reef. This is unboxing only, and he is using older non timer version, however his other videos do show light in use

Thanks

If a company all of a sudden changes its name it is normally due to warranty issues. I like using the Mars Aqua on my 180 gallon Softy tank. My first one I bought is around three years old. I like the fact I can connect three in a row
