I'll bring... errr something.... heh... hmmm I'll glue some hair algae to a frag plug for ya :)

huh... seriously I'll dig for something. I've got some kind of stuff that is similar to the mat of a gsp, but definitely NOT gsp. I don't know what this stuff is. Its kind of translucent neon green with about 8 fingers on each polyp. I wish I didn't leave my camera at work. ANy idea what I'm talking about?

Revhtree...are the clove polyps really blue looking and would it still be really blue looking under pc's..if so i might be interested in some

Oh they are very blue! Let me see what I can do. I know there will be a few frags from other members of these. :D

Does everyone know that these polyps are very small? I mean I probably have a few hundred on one frag disk not a plug a disk. They grow well too.

how well do they stand out from a distance...i have some pink clove like polyps sort of like pipe organs but they do not have hard red part...i don't know if they would be about the same size or not

Oh these are tiny. Like the plug I have looks like blue fur..LOL! I'll try and get a pic tomorrow and something for size reference.

How much is this stuff worth? I'll just sell a frag or two maybe. :D

I dunno, but I like it although it may not be anything real special. I'd rather have this stuff than gsp for sure. I really need to take a picture and have it identified.

So... you bringing some? You want me to cut you some of this mystery thing off?

I take it that the blue clove polyps are (still) fairly rare. I picked up some a few months back with a shipment of aussie acans and until this post, they are the only ones I've seen or heard about. They do grow really fast, but because of their size I don't see them being much of a threat to other corals like some of the other fast growing softies and GSP. As rev said, they are miniscule. Because of that, I think you get a nice swathe of color from them, but I wouldn't say they really jump out at you. I'm just planning on using them as "filler life" for between my nicer specimens. Very cool.

DMBillies... exactly... everything you said :)

I just saw them in another forum and thought they'd be cool to have here and there to add some "filler" interest. I would also expect them to grow quickly considering the type of coral they are. Most of this type do grow fast.

Hopefully Rev can spare a frag.. I'll buy or bring something that I have... whatever he decides.

Let me see what I can do as far as fragging. If I can get a good frag then it will maybe 20-25 bucks..

Atlantis has them for $5 a polyp!!!!! WOW!

second to last row...

OBTW from what I understand there will be 3 or 4 frags of these at the swap from other people. I just dont know how much they will be asking. That's where I got my frag.

wow  is right on all there prices I saw this frag
Tyree Limited Edition Green
Toadstool
FRG 421 1"open frags
$80
I want a commission on any of these that you all got from me if you sell them :)

$5/polyp :eek1:

In that case, the 3x3in. patch I have is probably a couple thousand worth...and I took the guy I got the original frag from to the cleaners (sorry).

LOL! Oh my $25 frag would probably have at least 50-100 on it i think..
Maybe more who knows how it will frag but what I was thinking was breaking my frag in half and doing that. I will not be counting polyps...since its almost impossible anyway!
