Blue Faced Angel

Moving on Up
OK I need some opinions please. I have a Blue Faced Angel in my QT I purchased at a discount because he had a cloudy eye. I treated him with Maracyn Plus and Fish Mox. It appears the eye has cleared up but the fish is not eating like I want it to. It seems to not be interested in anything I put in the tank. This behavior has been going on for several days now. I frequently do water changes and monitor PH and Amonnia. Everything seems fine but he just will not eat. Just to be safe I added some Seachem Prime to the tank tonight. Does anyone have any opinons or suggestions on what I can do for this fish. Overall he seems healthy. Not sure what to do. THanks for any help/suggestions. BILL

was he eating at the store? if so find out what they were feeding. You can try soaking the food in garlic or get nori, he may eat that. I had a kole tang in QT that didn't eat for about two weeks now he's great. Good luck

First don't buy sick fish to begin with. The discount is worthless if he dies. The fish store would rather see him die in your tank than his. Hopefully he'll recover and start eating. Try the garlic soak as suggested, and put some in the water 15 min before you are going to feed.

I have a 10" blue face that , I swear ,did not eat anything that I was aware of for almost 3 months. Then, out of the blue, it started nibbling at mysis soaked in garlic and Zoe. Now it eats that and green algae sheets and today it even ate some Formula One. During the time that it did not eat, it did not appear to lose any weight. At times I noticed that it would try to eat something and it's mouth would simply miss. I started to suspect that the fish was caught with cyanide and now I believe it. I have a F/O tank. Don't panic. Also try clams on the half shell. Many angels can't resist.

Thanks for the suggestions.....

Percula. I purchased the fish because I felt I could treat it better than the LFS. I would much rather take a chance and save a fish then have the LFS kill it.

Jerry I have had the fish in QT for about 3 weeks. He is about 4 inches, Not to sure about the nitrate level but I feel confident the nitrates are not the cause. I change out 20% of the water weekly.

Thanks for the responses. I really appreciate the input. I will keep the water quality superb and keep my fingers crossed.
