Blue hippo tang

I have a blue hippo tang that is on his side (normal), breathing very fast and did come out to eat (not normal). No other fish with problems, just did a 25% water change yesterday, and have UV in water. Any suggestions?

we need some details then that.
What are your water parameters?

Does he have any external signs of sickness? (i.e. white shots, velvet, etc).

Are you able to see the colour of his gills? if so what are they?

Is your tank well oxygenated (typing) ?

The tang is now on the bottom of the tank. There are no signs of external of illness, the fish is not bloated or skinny and is not discolored. All water parameters are at normal except for NO3 which is about at 50 and has been for over a year. I am unable to see inside of the gills. I added Melafix & Pimafix this morning, and have truned off the lights, lower the power head flow. The other fish are not picking at him.

Fish has fully recovered with Melafix & Pimafix for three days.

Thats great news. Don't forget to enrich his Algae with Vitamins so he stays strong! :)
