Blue kiss zoa not blue.help

I got 2 heads of blue kiss zoa...from lfs,the heads were big.

In my tank for a month now they have multiplied but look awful, pale and shrunk.

I have 6x54 t5.

What to do to get color?

Where are these zoas in relation to the lights?

They are probably getting more light in your tank then they were at the store.

What color of bulbs do you use? Depending on what kind of blue they are, some show up better under a white/yellow light, and some need actinic. I have some "true blues" and they looked much better under a 10k bulb than my current 12k bulbs because the extra blue sort of blends blue corals in with the surroundings. Post a pic of your polyps and that might help

I have nova ext 6x54w, stock bulbs t5, so its 3act&3 white....

My issue is none of my zoa r big, they look small but do multiply.....weird!

stock bulbs are aweful for color. you should get 6 new bulbs from ati or uvl and your color will come back. get 4 blue, 1 purple and 1 daylight.

+1, get some ATI's and it'll look like a completely different tank, you wouldn't believe the colors you'll start getting In ATI brand the names of the ones Whip listed are 4 actinic plus, 1 purple plus or pure actinic (I prefer purple plus), and one aquablue special.

Actually I just bought the bulbs: 3 ati blue plus, 1 aqua blue spl., 1 fiji purple, 1 day light.

For day/white I got 6k and 10k and 12k.

1) which day light is best...6k or 10k or 12k?
2) I can turn on 4,2 or all 6 bulbs on in my nova extreme 48"6x54.
What do I have to turn on for each set(4 / 2 bulbs)....in what combo....whats ideal?

Pls advice, thx!
