Hi all,

Do you guys recommend me on getting blue leg hermits to help to keep the tank cleaner.

I would like to get 1 or 2 urchins too. Do urchins have a purpose in a aquarium?

Thanks in advance for the help guys :)

urchins will eat your coraline too... Ya through a handfull of hermits in there. snails are better though. get some astreas, nessarius, and cerith snails.

i have blue leg hermits for 25c ea. and urchins 3$, nassarius 25c ea, and cerith snails 25c ea cucumbers and serpent starfish also for a whole clean up crew!

I think blue legs are great at keeping your rock clean and turbos imo do a great job for the galss and rocks, in my case I only see them usually make a difference on the glass. If you get both varieties just expect evey now and then for the hermits to gang up and kill a snail... it's natural and have seen it in all my tanks as well as others. Regardless there a primary addition to any of my clean up crews and do the job well.

Hey matt do own a fish store or are you just selling some of your stock?
Definitely interested in buying some snails from you.

Never had any sea cucumbers in my tank before do you recommend them?

Thanks :)

I think the scarlet hermits do best and they don't attack your snails as much as the blue legs and others will. As far as snails, I've found the Zebra turbos to be best, I never have to clean my glass in my tanks that have a bunch.

i think reef aquarium on bird has some of those zebra turbos if you want any.. but they are usually HUGE,,, like larger than most of my corals so they would easily knock them all over..
