I was wondering if someone can help me I'd this piece I got today. The lights are already dimming for the evening so the pictures aren't great. Of we need a better one I'll post tomorrow. It appears the surface is light green with blue polyps. Thanks for your help.

Cool thanks. I really appreciate it. I knew It looked like monti but I couldn't find anything online that looked like it. I thought it was some type of spongode as it looks like my other one. After finding out what it is I still can't find to much about it. A few sites talk about it and then I just looked at the site above. Are they not highly sought after in the hobby?

They are not very common and usually misidentified.

I have M. capitata. It obviously branches but my branches can grow in weird directions, it will encrust and even plate a little. Moderate light and moderate water flow.

Well I'll take that I don't mind things not common. If you don't mind do you have a picture you could post so I could have an idea what one looks like in the aquarium. Is it the same color. Green with blue polyps? Thanks for all your help.

Not to steal this thread but... I think I have the same species, and it's slowly dying. It's about 20 inches under direct LED lights. Last I checked all params are stable, but it all of a sudden started receding, and I barely have any PE now. Any idea what could be causing it to recede? It's receding from top down.

Maybe get it out of the direct light. I have mine off to the side and it does great.
