Blue Reef Chromis....Peaceful

Does anyone know if the Blue Reef Chromis is, in fact, peaceful.

I am trying to keep my tank non-aggressive and would really like a blue/electic blue fish.....

Mine never bother anyone. I have tried twice for a group of ten I always end up with two. I have heard of people being successful with schools of them.

Good, thanks for the input. I have a 120 and only have space to get 2 fish tops. Any opinions on having only 1 or is it better to get 2? Would I have to worry about agression with 2?

i have 3 in my 75. i always tried for a t least 5 to get that schooling feel but i always ended up with 1-3 chromis. i dont know if the other ones died from aggresion or what cause i always added them when the tank was still cycling (and what do you know, it took langer to cycle). i watch my tnak for 1+ hours a day and i have never noticed aggresion between the chromis. they are cool little buggers.

I had one in my 90 gallon a few years back and it was fine with everything. It was about 2". It died during a powere outage. They are supposed to get about 5", but I've never seen one that size though.

Are you talking about Chromis viridis or Chromis cyaneus? Or possibly a different chromis species?

There's been maybe 10+ threads on that fish recently. Everyone seems to agree that they are nice (temperment) fish but it sounds like most peope are only able to keep a single fish alive and they normally all perish in the first year. In any case, I suggest you try a different fish for you aquarium as I would consider these difficult to care for and there's little to no reasion to support their removal from the ocean. I have no personal experience with keeping them. Do a search you'll find much more information quickly. GL

I have 2. Used to be 3. Will soon be one.

Edit:
Just saw you mean cyaneaus not viridis. Mine are viridis, and they fight each other for dominance, not sure if the cyaneaus do the same.

I had a 90g and originally bought 7 of them. I always heard they do better in odd numbers but just like everyone said they slowly diminish over time. over the course of 2 months I was left with only one in the tank. He lived for well over a year in my tank. I could just never get him out because he was too fast and didn't want to take apart all of my rock work. The only reason he died is due to a tank crash or rather temperature spike while I was out of town. Over all good fish if you want movement, very easy to care for but hard to keep in a school without most dying off due to aggression.
On a side note, mine never really schooled anyway due to the smaller size of my tank. Unless they were all scared, they would all separate and do their own thing.
