Blue spot puffer ok with starfish?

My son's snowflake eel died not to long ago and his tank now has only a starfish. Not sure what kind but it is of the large red/brown reef eating type.

I'm thinking of moving a blue spot puffer in with it. Are they compatible or will the puffer pick at the starfish?

Puffers are known to pick at starfish, but sometimes they don't. The toby types of puffers are the ones that are considered the best chance to not pick at things. Has the puffer been known to pick at things in the past?

He doesn't pick at any corals but eats crabs, shrimps and picks at snails.

Should I try it?

My bet is he does try to pick at the starfish. What kind or starfish is it again? Does it stay on the glass and on the outside of the rocks. By reef eating I guess you mean not-reef safe. You could try it for a sec but watch him for a while and feed him good. I've heard stories where the puffer will just nip at like the chocolate chips on that starfish and leave the rest alive.
