Blue Spot Squamosa - Sand or Rock?

We just brought home a blue spot squamosa. Are they happier on the rock or in the sand?

With your lighting I would put it on the sand. The bigger sp of clam like the sand. They use their mass to hold them selfs in place. How about a photo?
