I got a nice frag of Blue Sympodium polyps about an inch across last year. I got it in a spot where its happy with great polyp extension and growth. Well after a year in my tank its grown from a 1 in frag to about 4-5in across and taking over the rock I put it on which isnt the issue since I love this coral.
Yesterday i noticed the coral was "splitting"... one half of the colony started pulling away from the rest of the colony with both staying firmly attached to the rock. just slowly moving away. this morning, I now have to colonies of Blue sympodium...
Anyone here of this happening with similar corals? possible reasons why?
