Blue Tang with pimples

I was looking at my Blue Tang last night and I see 2 spots of what appears to be pimples protruding from its body. It does not appear to be Ich. I'm not sure if it has been discussed here on the forum, but has anyone seen this before on their fish? I know what Ich looks like and I have treated fish for it, but this looks just like a pimple. My Blue Tang does not have any other symptoms of scratching on rocks or twitching or even heavy breathing. He still eats well and no other fish in my display has any signs of Ich at all. I will try to post a photo tonight.

Thanks for the link. Is the general cosensus that it's not Ich and it might be some type of virus? Should I try to catch and QT it? Or treat it like a lymphocyst with maintaining great water quality, nutrition, etc? I'm due for a large water change so I can try that first to see if it improves his health.

I would treat it like a virus to start and use the same regimen recommended for Lympho: maintain excellent water quality/feed vitamin-enriched nutritious foods. If it gets a lot worse then I would QT and start experimenting with different meds. Maybe antibiotics to start. Good luck!

I do not believe a UV light would help for lympho. I've had good results getting rid of it with doing what b0bab0ey said; good water quality along with good vitamin enriched food. In my case, a yellow tang had a couple of spots and it took about a month for it to recede.

Yeah, a UV sterilizer. I don't have one, but just a thought. I'll just increase my water change frequency to weekly for a while, instead of every 2 weeks. I have increased my bio-load with more feedings, so that might be what's driving the stress. Thanks again guys!! I'll report back what my results are in a few weeks or more.
