Does anyone out there have any experience, or know anything about the breeding habits of blue throat triggers, i have a pair, not sure if they are mated or not, but i wanted to know more about the breeding habits of them. everywhere i look says there is no known tank breeding info.

i can suggest you do a broader search -this was the first hit, took me about 15 sec. Granted these are crosshatch- but same family- so you get the idea-

Abstract Reproductive ecology of the crosshatch triggerfish, Xanthichthys mento (Balistidae) was studied at Hachijojima, Izu Islands, Japan. Males established territories and repeatedly chased females passing nearby. There were 1â€"œ3 females in each male's territory before spawning and during egg care. This species spawned in pairs on the sandy bottom. Eggs were scattered and attached to sand particles. Females care for the eggs by blowing water on them and guarding them against intruders, while males helped in guarding. Thus, biparental egg care was observed for 2 days until hatching. Both the males and females disappeared from the territories after the egg care. The reproductive ecology of this species is compared with that of other balistids and the unique features of X. mento are described.

BTW-- a few of the larger ballistodies trigger have been repeated bred in public aquarium. The New England aquarium has a massive central tank and has numerous queen triggers breeding regularly.
I suspect one of the hold up w/ triggers is tank size, ie most hobby sized tanks are too small for them to set up territories, form harems and keep sufficient distance between fish to keep the fighting down
