Blue zoas faded

A couple of months ago I picked up a small frag of blue tubbs. They had great color but kept falling from where I had them placed. (didn't want to epoxy their rubble until I knew they'd do well where they were)

They were on the side of a rock wall in my tank, semi-direct light from the T5's and MH's and fairly indirect flow. Since they kept falling, I moved them to a more stable spot higher up in the tank - but with direct light and pretty direct flow. After a couple of days I noticed they were staying closed so I moved them back to where they were, but secured the rubble better.

Now they're open but have NO color to them. (though their skirts glow green under lunars) There's the start of some new ones around the base - so it should be interesting to see if they come in with color. If not, I'll have to frag them off as "Teenage Mutant Albinos". ;)

Has anyone else seen this 100% color loss before? It's been a week or so, and there's NO recovery in the color whatsoever. I've got another colony in the tank (orange bam bams - same location) and those are doing fine.

I have never seen that color loss before but I keep my tubbs under a ledge.. They get only shaded light no direct light... They stay a nice blue color that way, if I put them in the light they change quick..

Update... I've got some of these same pale ones that have a decent start on some growth on the total opposite end of my tank (about 5' away). They're on the overflow so I can't move them.

I'll try putting my originals under a ledge. Looks to be about 4 or 5 new ones growing around the base of the original 2.

i've had my tubs under pc's and mh 4" below water and they seem to be brighter under mh.

now the problem with color loss i had with my spidermans. i noticed this when i added actinics in my tank the tubsand they were 4" below water on the other side of the tubs (the tubs were not under actinics)

i also lost color on another colony of blues cause they were under actinics. i believe that being blue and having the blue of the actinics has something to do with this. i had no problems with other blues that were not under the actinics.

the spidermans died already and the other blue colony i have i kept in a shaded part, heard blues like shade more, and the color seems to be coming back but it's taking a while. been about 2 months already.
