blueline cleaner wrasse

I've had mine for about a year now. Cleans any fish that he sees, even if they don't want him too. He also eats any type of food that I feed the tank. Here is a picture of him cleaning my yellow tang.

unfortunately the two of you are in the great majority. These fish need to stay on the reefs as they are way over fished and have one of the poorest survival rates as any other fish. In most cases cleaner wrasses do more harm then good in a aquarium environment because they are constantly harassing the other fish in the tank. In the wild if a fish wants to be cleaned it goes to a known cleaning station on the reef and then leave when they are done. In an aquarium they are always at the cleaning station which can cause stress to the fish. They play a vital role on the reefs and reports are that there are not enough of them on the reefs anymore. Just my thoughts. Regards, Tim

Saw a pink tailed one at my lfs, my dad insisted we get it but I was able to use our upcoming vacation as an excuse to leave it there. It is a shame how these guys just aren't suited for our tanks.

Have mine for 8 months. It's doing really well, eating anything i put in the tank and cleans other fishes too.But only the ones who like it. It leaves the others alone.
I only wish i knew a little bit more about this fish before bying(impulse buy) because i wouldn't have bought it. I'm glad it's doing so well but i wish it was swimming in a reef somewhere instead of my tank. :(

Usually they will not make it and may also harass your fish if the environment is small. Cleaner shrimp work much better. As Tim says, they should be left on the reef.
