Boiling Live Rock?????

I have one piece of Live Rock that is about 2 lbs that I pulled out of my 29g because it had a very nasty Oenone fulgida worm in it. I could not be sure that I killed it so I decided to boil the rock in fresh water then I placed it in the oven to dry it out. Do you think that if I were to place it right back in the tank after doing that it will be ok or will it cause any kind of spike?

So what should I do? I thought about placing it in a bucket of RO/DI Fresh water and test that water for Ammo, Nitrite, Nitrate.

in the future be very carful boiling anything from your tank
there potential life threatning substances in your rock when heated could really wreck anyone whom came in contact with the vapors

I would say put it in saltwater and wait for it to "cure." If you add a little piece of actual live rock to it it will help speed up the process. Your tank is way to small to handle that much dead stuff.

+1.... I would just use the water from your water changes... and test for about 4 weeks. You might to keep more of an eye on it for the cycle with that little fo water.
