Bonded clownfish for first livestock?

Alright...I'm all cycled up and got my DT and QT ready to go..I'm thinking of getting a bonded pair of clownfish for my first livestock...My question is 2 fish too much to get started?...I got a small CUC coming Friday and am going to get those guys directly in DT...I was planning on getting the 2 clowns and QT'ing them but don't want to over do it...it looks like bonded pairs will limit stress on the fish since I want at least 2 clowns anyway...

Please advise..

I assumed it was in the Saltwater Handbook to add clowns at or near the beginning....

Yeah, I think pretty much everyone does this. Especially people starting their first tank.

How big is the tank? Clowns can get a little territorial, especially in pairs, so if it's a smaller tank, it wouldn't be the worst idea to start with other more peaceful fish first. I just added a clown goby to my DT, and for some reason my clowns hate this tiny little guy, but have no problem with any other fish.

I had intended to add a pair as the first fish to my tank. My LFS owner talked me out of it. His argument was clowns could become aggressive to later additions. I don't know how aggressive, but I trust his judgment.

I agree. Clowns, especially paired, can be quite aggressive. In a small tank, they would probably be better added later, depending on what other fish you are planning to add.
