I have a small bit of this growing (seemingly out of nowhere) and I'm wondering anyone out there have this long term?? Benefits? Nuissance? For now it's cool to me to see the different new things show up. Thanks for any help.

btw - sorry no pics, I am sure this is what I've got. Looks like little red grapes. Scared of a rapid (nuissance) reproduction.

Okay. I guess it's about time I get with the program with picture posting. I guess I'll go back to the newbie forum to learn, but meanwhile... I'll tell you it looks similar, but the differences at this point are: the bulbs do not seem to be elongated (very circular as opposed to ovular) I know there must be stems/stalks under them, but at this time they are not visible. It is good to hear that your similar algae has not become a nuissance, I can only hope for the same. I hate to pull things out unless they are a real problem.

Just went to the article you posted graveyardworm... I had already found that one. It identified the algae perfectly for me, now I'm just trying to find out what to do with it?
