Bought snail with green bubbles on it?

I just purchased a snail and it has green bubbles and a moss like substance on it, i dont want to put it in my tank is there a way to clean it?

pull it out of the tank and scrape the shell.

If it is bubble algae, there are spores inside it and if you pop it in the tank it will spread.

what should i scrape it with?

anything that will remove it.... finger nail, blade, even an old tooth brush w/ stiff bristles will work

And make sure you rinse it in some separate ro or salt water before you put it back in the tank.
