You were asking about the industrial dual bed water softener that is like the ones Orin used to install in hospitals.
I'm asking $500, or $400 and some live rock.
It saves on salt because it measures the volume of water actually used, and recycles one resin bed through the charged one so you get a better charge, and you can use water constantly at any time in the cycle without affecting water quality. That is very important when you are about to make RO/DI water that will be used in kidney dialysis. And it's also nice when you are about to drink it, shower in it, or make RO/DI for a reef tank. You can use regular salt or potassium chloride salt in this unit.
