Brain corals released some

I just did a 10% water change and my brain corals released some slime is this normal?

How long did you mix the water? Most salt brands contain elements that help facilitate a quicker dissolve time. These components, if not dissolved can burn or irritate coral tissue.

You should wait at least 6 hours before doing any water change.

Thanks fred I got carried away by reading the label on this oceanic salt it says its very soluble.

If you have a rubbermaid garbage container you can mix your salt in advance, let's say a day or two that way your always ready. Just add a little powerhead in there just to make sure it's mixing.

Yeah i wouldnt worry too much about it, my brain seems to release a little slime everytime i move it(i tend to reaquascape too much) and it seems to be back to normal soon after. Its their way of saying you might have stressed it out
