Another sun coral feeding question. Mine are all doing well (I've been so bad...feeding them once every other week at best...ok, ok, stop yelling).
Anyways, my question is, how much can they eat at once. I mean, I fed each mouth a large PE mysis shrimp, yet after consuming it, each polyp is now open even bigger?? Should I feed them more, or are they like anemones, and they'll just regurgitate it later, so don't bother?
Here they are after already eating. Notice how large a shrimp the little one on the left must have swallowed :eek2:
SDguy I have the same type of suncoral I purchased from a LFS for $20 in the frag tank they had. It seems to me that they grow faster then the blacksuncoral. I've had a frag of black for about 5 months with no new grow and the pink/orange branching type and it has grown about 3 new babies. I think I've had it for about 2 months now. They will spit out excess food. I feed them Cyclops and mysis shrimp. Anything they spit out my shrimps and other sunorals eat.
Here is a pic of the coral when I got it, since then I broke the healthy heads off.
